Laure's Happy VIE

At the same time international tax specialist, artist, mother, friend, traveller, I have lived in several countries (France, Switzerland, Australia, Ireland) and I have always followed the wind and trusted life.

My greatest pleasure is to wander through unknown cities and countries with good music in my headphones. And sometimes taking it off, to answer a smile and start a conversation.

I look for the moment of grace to immortalize it with my camera and sometimes make a drawing of it.

My motto: One is free when one takes responsibility for one's choices.

Laure's Happy STYLE

I'm a self-taught artist. It all starts with photography. When I am lucky enough to be able to take the image myself I look for the attitude, the intensity, the precise moment when the smile on the face gives way to the truth.

Then, I realize the portrait around one or more colors inspired by the subject and sometimes the halo of dots or lines. I am also passionate about architecture and I also make drawings of houses, streets and other buildings.

I am now working digitally while waiting to have my own workshop and take back my pencils and Posca.

Why we love Laure

We absolutely wanted to collaborate with an artist who highlights animals in an original way. So we naturally chose Laure because we love her haloed animals, her dotted drawings and her choice of colours.

Laure's Happy Funky PORTRAIT

♥ Do you remember your first aesthetic shock?
In my parents' living room hung a lithograph of Paul Klee's Senecio portrait which fascinated and questioned me greatly. With my child's eyes, I found him alternately angry, astonished, silent, frozen, moving. And I realised that a painting can contain multiple messages, depending on who is looking at it and what mood they are in.

♥ The artist you would like to meet? What would you say to him?
Edward Hopper, I would ask him what he is thinking about.

What is your favourite colour? What does it inspire you to do?
At the moment, it's orange-red. It seems to me to convey passion and wisdom at the same time. My favourite colour changes with time, age and my moods.

♥ Which museum gives you the greatest emotion? Why?
Without hesitation, La Collection de l'Art Brut in Lausanne, Switzerland, made up largely of non-standard artists, not trained or aware of Art. The visitor enters the world of the artist who shows his own questions, fears, joys, pathologies through creation. An almost impudent journey that disturbs the viewer and reflects back to him his own perception. To be visited once in a lifetime.

♥ Which work of art would you buy without hesitation if you had an unlimited budget?
A work by Pierre Soulages. The material, the light that depends on where the creation is placed, the apparent simplicity, the class. Everything about Soulages speaks to me.

♥ In which city do you feel happiest? Why do you think so? Share your 3 favourite addresses.
Melbourne - Australia. I've been lucky enough to live in several countries and Melbourne will always remain in my memory for its gentle way of life, its philosophy, the proximity of the sea and its warm inhabitants.

I left Australia in 2008, I doubt my good addresses are still there!

♥ Which book keeps you up all night?
All books by Christian Oster!

♥ What are your greatest sources of inspiration?
Jean-Claude Götting, whom I was lucky enough to meet at a book signing. I also treated myself to one of his works from the Visages series exhibited in 2018 at the Huberty Breyne gallery in Paris.

♥ What's the funkiest thing you've done in your life?
Without really knowing it, I treated myself to a cuckoo flight in Australia to fly over the coast and the sea. What I didn't realise until I got on board was that the pilot was doing aerobatics. The most surprising thing is that I was not afraid. I learned a lot about myself that day.

♥ What is your definition of happiness?
There, here, now by knowing how to let go of the past and the future. More concretely, my friends, my family, a good beer, My white shepherd dog, something nice to eat, a setting sun and a comfortable chair.
